Sniffable Switch Project
Project Description:
The Sniffable Switch Project is a database of known switches
that are and are not susceptible to being sniffed. All relevant information about
the hardware is included (e.g. vendor name, managed or unmanaged,
firmware/OS versions, etc.). Since this is a community effort, the success of
the project depends on people that are willing to volunteer information about
switches.
Here is the original post to BugTraq announcing the project:

July 24 2002...
I finally compiled the submission that I received (you heard me right, submission). Enjoy.
July 19 2002...
Well after receiving an email from a Danish security portal called Safe2Day.dk, I have decided to re-animate this project. The gentleman I got the email from was John Jørgensen. He provided me with a link on a write-up of the project (located at the site here) that the portal did. He also said that it was too bad that I ended the project so early. In fact, I have just received several more emails expressing the same thing. That is why I am going to try to make this project work again. Over the weekend, I will take the few submissions and put them into a file. Don't be surprised by it's pale size.
I guess I should also mention how I do not have a clue how to make this project work. I would like to hear any suggestions you might have. Albeit, I do have an idea for a direction but I am sill working it out. Thanks for all of your help and support.
